Business Meetings

The classic business meeting model is rapidly changing. There is a new generation of business professionals introducing a more collaborative approach to problem solving and planning.

Use your talent pool

Smart corporate leadership teams are benefiting by utilising the creativity of their employees; opening meetings up for discussion and turning business problems into opportunities for growth.

Brainstorming is one example of how business leaders are using meetings as a way to incorporate the unique talents and perspectives of their employees.

How it works is simple. A business leader facilitates a brainstorming session during a portion of their business meeting. The problem or opportunity is outlined briefly for all staff attending, and then everyone is welcome to offer their ideas on the topic. Every business idea is welcome and there is no "wrong answer", as the goal is simply to share as many creative ideas as possible.

At the end of the meeting the leadership team has a large amount of possible solutions to their business problem, many of which they would never have thought of themselves.

Employees as well as employers are finding that this more collaborative approach is very satisfying. The invitation for everyone to share their own unique and individual ideas in a meeting helps employees feel appreciated and successfully integrated as a valuable part of the business team.

Business meetings that include employees in collaborative problem solving through methods such as brainstorming are part of a new business culture, one that is producing a more creative, fulfilling and mutually lucrative business experience for all.
